Big Valve Twin Cam engine with 5 speed transmission

This great looking car has been in storage for sometime.

We have recently lightly recommissioned it, removed and flushed fuel tanks, cleared fuel lines, stripped down and rebuilt the carburettors.

Serviced the engine etc.

The car now runs and drives well.

This car is number 15 out of 41 white Europa Special’s

The bodywork appears to have no damage or previous repairs and the doors open and close the best I have ever seen on an Europa. The paintwork is poor! It’s crazed and micro blistered,It could be used as is but really would benefit from repainting.

Chassis is in great condition, it’s a Spyder replacement with upgraded rear wishbone and driveshaft set up.

The car was ordered by Torquay Motors ltd in 1973 as a factory demonstration model. Finished in white with gold pin stripping and gold sill covers rather then the more common black. Factory options. Alloy wheels, 5 speed gearbox, air horns, Philips Turnolock radio.

The interior is all original, some age wear. Edge of drivers seat has split, varnish on dashboard has stated to lift and the carpets are fairly worn out.

A fantastic history file comes with the car, this includes its Lotus classic certificate of vehicle provenance, details of all the cars owners plus invoices and records of work.

With some restoration this could be an outstanding example of one of Lotus’s most sort after road cars.
