1976 Lotus Elan
Series 3 Coupe
This gorgeous little car was with the previous owner for around 47 years. The car was completely restored 27 years ago and stored since.
Over the lockdown period we purchased this car and slowly recommissioned it.
In my opinion the Series 3 cars are the most attractive of the Elans.
Bodywork is in excellent condition, the doors fit well which is unusual for an Elan. No cracks or damage to the fibreglass.
New front and rear windscreen rubbers with new chromes, new boot hinges badges and other body fittings.
Mechanically the car has been fully rebuilt. Galvanised chassis, braking system complete renewed / refurbished including GIrling servo.
Five wheels shot blasted and powder coated & fitted with new tyres
Petrol tank powder coated, new fuel lines, new fuel pump. Carburettors rebuilt with all genuine Webber parts.
Engine rebuilt to sprint spec, bigger cams. Modified cylinder head. 4 into 1 manifold with stainless steel exhaust system.
The list is endless.
Interior is in lovely condition. Again lots of new parts including the carpets and headlining. The car still retains many nice original features such as the chrome push button radio and scarce Teleflex seat belts.
